ACES Career Services is partnering with the ACES Alumni Association to provide current ACES students with a job shadowing opportunity. This will allow ACES sophomores and juniors to see first-hand the practical reality of the world of work. This is a wonderful way to impact the leaders of tomorrow and stay connected with the college and current ACES students.
The actual job shadow is targeted to occur over winter break, preferably one day during the week of January 12, 2009. Realizing winter is not an ideal time for some industries related to the College of ACES, an alternative day over spring break is suggested (week of March 23, 2009).
If you are interested in participating in this program, please visit http://www.aces.uiuc.edu/Careers/JobShadow.shtml. The deadline to participate in the program is October 24. Alumni are encouraged to consider providing this opportunity.
Not only will you be sharing your experience, you will be exposing students to your organizational culture and industry and may potentially attract talented students to apply for your open jobs and internships. After all, everyone can use more ORANGE and BLUE in their organization!
For additional details, contact Jenny Neef, ACES Career Services Coordinator, at jneef@uiuc.edu.
The 29th annual ACES Career Fair will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m at the new I Hotel and Conference Center (southeast corner of St. Mary's Road and First Street). If your organization is seeking to fill full-time and/or internship positions in the coming months, the ACES Career Fair is one of the best ways to market your opportunities to talented ACES students. Over 500 students are expected to attend.
The registration deadline is September 2, 2008. More information is available online.
Remember, you can also publicize your positions through the ACES online job board - the ILLINI NACElink Network. The ILLINI NACElink Network is utilized by both current students and alumni. It costs you nothing but a few minutes of your time.
For more information about these opportunities, contact ACES Career Services, Jenny Neef, jneef@uiuc.edu
