Jerry Hicks (BS ’71, MS ’72), an accredited farm manager with Agrivest, Inc. from New Berlin, has been involved in agriculture his entire life. He was raised on a grain and livestock farm and involved with the Lee County Harmon Hornets 4-H Club for 10 years. Jerry’s interest in agriculture led him to the University of Illinois, where he earned his undergraduate degree in animal sciences and a master’s degree in beef production. After graduating, Jerry worked for Extension, an affiliation that has continued to this day with years of service on various committees and boards in addition to more than 24 years as a 4-H leader. He has served as the state fair superintendent of the 4-H rabbit show, chair of State Extension Advisory Council, and president of Extension Partners. Lobbying at the State Capital for Extension funding and promoting the 4-H program whenever possible, Jerry is a true friend of 4-H.
Jerry was recognized by the Illinois 4-H Foundation at the ACES College Connection event held on November 13, 2009.
